GOVERNORS

All schools in England have a Governing Body. Our Governing Body is formed of sixteen unpaid elected members.

School Governors are responsible for overseeing school standards, the curriculum, behaviour, admissions, staffing, policies, finances and premises. The full Governing Body meets four times per year and its committees meet between four and six times per year.

There are nine Foundation Governors:
The Vicar of St Augustine’s Church (ex-officio).
2 Governors appointed by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS).
2 Governors appointed by the Paddington Deanery Synod.
2 Governors appointed by St Augustine’s Parochial Church Council (PCC).
2 Parent Governors appointed by the other Foundation Governors.

There are seven Representative Governors
The headteacher (ex-officio).
2 Governors appointed by the Local Authority.
1 teacher Governor elected by the teaching staff.
1 staff Governor elected by the non-teaching staff.
2 parent Governors elected by the parents of pupils at the school.

There is also a Clerk to the Governing Body.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

We have a School Council which meets regularly with members of the School’s Senior Leadership Team to discuss school issues of importance to children. Children are elected by the pupils in their class to represent them on the School Council. Councillors are responsible for gathering the views of pupils, for expressing these at meetings and for taking action following council decisions. Meetings have an agenda and minutes are kept; these are displayed on a notice board in the lobby.
