THE CURRICULUM
Our school curriculum is based on four
important principles:
• It is broad: it introduces children to a wide range of knowledge, understanding and skills.
• It is balanced: each area of learning is valued and allocated sufficient time.
• It is differentiated: it matches children’s individual needs, abilities and aptitudes.
• It is relevant: it is designed to interest children and relate to their own life experience.
In Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children are taught for 23 hours each week, and in Years 3 - 6 children are taught for 24.5 hours each week. Throughout the school children are taught in whole classes, small groups and individually according to their needs.

In the EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE
(Nursery and Reception classes) the curriculum is
organised into six broad areas of learning:
• Personal, Social and Emotional Development
• Communication, Language and Literacy
• Mathematical Development
• Knowledge and Understanding of the World
• Physical Development
• Creative Development

In Years 1 - 6 children are taught according to the NATIONAL CURRICULUM and learning is organised into core subjects, foundation subjects and additional subjects:
